Unfinished Hardwood Flooring
Nothing Left Unfinished
This is simply raw, unfinished wood of any species that has been milled into tongue-and-groove form. It’s usually a solid wood, but also available in engineered varieties. This would be installed in your home and then sanded, stained and finished on site. While typically a more invasive project than a prefinished selection, there are key benefits to choosing this product:
> Wide variety of finish luster options to choose from.
> Customized stain selection to best suit your design needs.
> Can match it up to existing wood in the home with more flexibility.
> Eliminates the bevels between planks since boards are sanded flat at one time before finishing.
> Able to be refinished if/when you change your mind on color or the floors have simply seen better days.
Primary finishing options include oil-based polyurethane, water-based polyurethane and tongue-oil. More information on these finishes can be found here.
