GRANITE COUNTERTOPS
Granite is by far the most popular natural stone countertop because of its density and variety of colors and styles. Like any stone, granite must be properly cared for. Fifteen-year sealers are available on granite, but you should still maintain sealing as needed.

MARBLE COUNTERTOPS
A soft, porous and delicate stone, marble is not as common as granite for heavy-use countertops in kitchens and bathrooms due to its chemical sensitivity. It is also usually more expensive than granite.

Like any stone, marble must be properly cared for. Fifteen-year sealers are available on marble, but you should still maintain sealing as needed.

QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS
Quartz is an excellent no-maintenance alternative to granite countertops. It looks like granite but is stronger and therefore not as vulnerable to breaking or scratching. Quartz is also non-porous, making it a food-safe, stain-resistant surface.

SOLID SURFACE COUNTERTOPS
Solid surface is a synthetic material available in numerous styles and colors. A big benefit is that it can be “seamless,” which means that sinks and backsplashes can be integrated into the counters to create a crack-free surface that is easy to keep clean.

Solid surface is non-porous and thus safe for food. It can also be used to form shower bases or even shower walls. While susceptible to scratching, it can be completely refinished and restored to its original condition.

RECYCLED COUNTERTOPS
The various recycled countertops include glass, paper and metal. They are often more expensive than the other countertop choices, but they also offer unparalleled style and sustainability. These countertops usually have a more contemporary look.
